These economical fixtures provide intense UV-C for destruction of airborne and surface bacteria, viruses, and spores. Due to the intense UV, these must be applied in unoccupied areas or after normal work hours. However, if workers are present, proper eye and skin protection must be worn at all times.

Specific applications include labs, pathology, biotech areas, mortuary prep rooms, gross anatomy labs and any other location where it is necessary to destroy disease carrying microorganisms. However specimens stored in glass, plastic, and most other materials are completely protected from the UV energy.
