Lumalier Corp. and Philips Healthcare have partnered to provide the Tru-D Total Room Ultraviolet Disinfector, a fully automated UVC room disinfection device that uses Sensor360 technology to ensure disinfection of all high touch environmental surfaces. "The dynamic sensor array compensates for room size and geometry, wall color and reflectivity, and complexity of objects and equipment within the room ensuring disinfection within shadowed areas," said Chuck Dunn, president of Lumalier.

“We confirmed the results of 2 previous studies that demonstrated that an automated UVLD device (Tru-D) significantly reduced environmental contamination on high-touch surfaces in patient rooms.” “…widespread adoption of these technologies … should be considered for terminal room disinfection in healthcare facilities.”

“The UV- C system (Tru-D) offers faster decontamination, which reduces the “down time” of the room before another patient can be admitted.” “There is ample evidence that (Tru-D)… can reduce environmental contamination with healthcare-associated pathogens.”
“There are now 3 studies that have demonstrated that this UV-C system (Tru-D) is capable of reducing vegetative bacteria (MRSA, VRE, and Acinetobacter baumannii) inoculated on a carrier by 3–4 log10…”
